The Alt-Country blog, When You Awake is turning two years old this month and to celebrate they are throwing a party at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles. I’ve done a number of mixtape covers for them which were really fun to illustrate. So I was thrilled when Jody asked me to design their poster for the event. It looks to be quite a fun night with lots of bands. Get your tickets here.

When You Awake is an ode to country life, celebrating everything from classic country and rock to the the current indie folk and roots scenes. The daily blog features music news, mixtapes, ticket giveaways, style finds and much more. With roots in Nashville, Los Angeles- based founder Jody Orsborn also presents shows around town featuring musicians like Justin Townes Earle, Deer Tick and Leslie and the Badgers.

I just completed some Iron Man 2 Sketch Cards for Marvel and Upper Deck. I’ll be posting a few over the next couple days.
Every pack of printed trading cards comes with an original sketch by a random artist. They also give the artists a set of blanks so we can draw some on commission. If you are interested in a custom Iron Man drawing email me at info@patrickgerrity.com.

I drew and colored a couple pages for an upcoming comic book called the Midnightmen. The Midnightmen are a team of secret agents on a undercover mission at the beginning of WWII.
My pages are a bio for one of the team members named Micah. He’s a big purple guy who has psychic powers. If you want to see the end comic click here.

Here is a 3D model of David Bowie that I built in Maya with some Mudbox touch-up. As it turns out police mug shots make great reference for CG modeling because there is usually a clear front and side view.
